How to convert a percent to a fraction
- Drop the percent sign and write the number over 100.
- If the percentage is a decimal, multiply both numerator and denominator by 10 for each decimal digit to get whole numbers.
- Simplify the fraction by dividing numerator and denominator by their GCD.
Example 1. Convert 25%
- Write as a fraction: 25/100
- Find GCD(25, 100) = 25
- Divide: 25 ÷ 25 = 1, 100 ÷ 25 = 4

- Multiply numerator and denominator by 10: 125/1000
