How to convert a fraction to a percent
- If the number is mixed, convert it to an improper fraction: multiply the whole part by the denominator and add the numerator.
- Divide the numerator by the denominator.
- Multiply the result by 100 and add the percent sign.
Example 1. Convert 3/4
- Divide: 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75
- Multiply by 100: 0.75 × 100 = 75

Example 2. Convert 1 2/5 (mixed number)
- Convert to improper fraction: 1 × 5 + 2 = 7, so 7/5
- Divide: 7 ÷ 5 = 1.4
- Multiply by 100: 1.4 × 100 = 140
