EV charging time calculation
To calculate the charging time, specify:
- battery capacity, kWh;
-
charging power, kW;
The higher is the power, the faster is the charging. The charging power depends on the type of a charging station and EV specifications:
- 7...22kW for slow AC charging from an on-street charging station;
- 1.7...7kW for home charging; a single full charge may require over 24h;
- 50...300kW for fast DC charging from an on-street charging station; a single full charge may require less than 1h;
- Each EV has charging current limitation. Even if a charging station offers a faster charging, it cannot be charged faster than its specifications allow.
-
start and end charging level;
For instance, from 20% to 80%. Automakers advise maintaining an EV battery within the 20% to 80% charge range, promoting better battery longevity. This is required due to the chemical composition of state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries.
Autonomous Driving Range Calculation
This calculator helps you work out the autonomous driving range after charging for a certain number of hours. To do this calculation, specify:
- battery capacity, kWh;
- charging power, kW;
- charging time in hours or minutes;
- average power consumption.
Charging Cost Calculation
To calculate the cost of a charging session, specify the electricity rate per kWh.
